MR. JAMES DALY (Monaghan, S.)

I beg to ask the Attorney General for Ireland whether he can state how many jurors and the religion of each juror that was challenged by the Crown at the trial of the Maguire Brothers in County Tyrone in March last?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. J. ATKINSON,) Londonderry, N.

Forty-one jurors were ordered to stand aside by the Crown and forty challenged by the prisoners. No inquiry is made into the religion of jurors, nor am I in possession of any information tin the subject.
