HC Deb 18 May 1897 vol 49 c730
MR. JAMES DALY (Monaghan, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will state what steps he intends taking with regard to the Vehicles (Lights) Bill, which applies to Ireland, and if passed into law would compel that every cart, car, or other vehicle must have a lighted lamp attached, if travelling after night?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

If the Bill reaches the Committee stage the Irish Government will be prepared to consider whether or not Ireland should be exempted from its provisions.
