§ CAPTAIN DONELAN (Cork, E.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received a memorial from the Midleton (County Cork) Board of Guardians relative to the proposed unequal distribution of the Exchequer grant in, aid of the erection of labourers' cottages; and whether he will take steps to comply with the request contained in the memorial?
§ *MR. GERALD BALFOURMemorials have been received from several Boards of Guardians in reference to the distribution of the Exchequer contribution in aid of the erection of labourers' cottages. I am not prepared to introduce further legislation on the subject. The proposed Amendment was considered by the Government when the Act of last year was under consideration, but was not adopted.
