HC Deb 17 May 1897 vol 49 cc626-7
MR. F. S. STEVENSON (Suffolk, Eye)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any, and, if so, what progress has been effected with the arrangements for the departure of the Turkish troops for Crete?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. G. CURZON,) Lancashire, Southport

For the reasons which I named in the Debate of May 7th, it has not yet been found possible to make any arrangements for the withdrawal of the Turkish troops from Crete, but the question has again been brought forward for discussion by the Powers.
