HC Deb 13 May 1897 vol 49 c391
MR. T. C. H. HEDDERWICK (Wick Burghs)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury when he proposes to introduce a Measure dealing with the subject of Private Bill legislation in Scotland?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

As perhaps the hon. Gentleman is aware, the Secretary for Scotland is now Introducing the Bill in the House of Lords.

MR. HEDDERWICK

asked if the right hon. Gentleman would undertake that the Bill should be introduced in this House in time to enable it to have a fair chance of passing into law before the end of the Session?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

That would depend upon the general course of public business, with regard to which I cannot make a statement at present.
