HC Deb 13 May 1897 vol 49 c369
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether any steps have been taken to free the harbour of Port Ness, Island of Lewis, from the huge concrete blocks which fell into the harbour during the construction of the harbour works; and whether he is aware that these blocks are a serious source of danger to the fishermen in the pursuit their calling?

*THE LORD ADVOCATE

I am informed by the engineers of the works that the blocks referred to have not been removed owing to the weather not yet being suitable for doing so. They also assure me that the blocks are not a source of danger to the fishermen.
