HC Deb 06 May 1897 vol 48 c1597
MR. J. P. FARRELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1) whether he has received copies of resolutions recently adopted by the Oldcastle and Bailieborough Boards of Guardians calling on the Government to extend to Ireland the same treatment in the matter of relief of rates as England got under the Land Rating Bill of last year; and (2) whether he can make any statement on the subject.

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

Copies of the resolution referred to in the first paragraph have been received. The question is one for the Treasury to deal with.
