HC Deb 29 March 1897 vol 47 c1567
MR. FIELD

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he has received memorials asking for an acceleration of the speed of the electric trains running from Ball's Bridge to Dalkey; and whether the Board of Trade will permit the same rate of speed as is allowed on other electric traction lines in Great Britain and Ireland?

LORD GEORGE HAMILTON (for Mr. RITCHIE)

Yes, Sir, the Board of Trade have received memorials on the subject, and are considering them. There is no uniform rate of speed for electric tramays, each case must be dealt with on its merits.
