HC Deb 25 March 1897 vol 47 c1308
Mr. J. P. FARRELL

On behalf of the hon. Member for Cork (Mr. MAURICE HEALY), I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he could state in which of the five scales of wages for provincial postmen, as settled by the Report of Lord Tweedmouth's Committee, the Cork Post Office will be placed?

MR. HANBURY

The town postmen at Cork will be placed on scale No. 4, namely, that rising from 17s. by 1s. 6d. to 24s. It is intended very shortly to issue a general notice to the staff on this subject.
