§ CAPTAIN NORTON (Newington, W.)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the advisability of indemnifying to some extent the troops which were on board the Warren Hastings for the losses they sustained, more especially as their conduct upon the occasion of the wreck has been the subject of commendation by the Military authorities themselves, as well as by the public at large?
§ MR. BRODRICKNo claims have yet been received for indemnification for losses consequent on the wreck of the Warren Hastings, but the whole question is under consideration with a view to the fair treatment of those concerned.
