TOMLINSON (Preston)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether the Board of Trade have had their attention directed to sub-section 4 of clause 9 of the North Eastern Railway (Additional Powers) Bill; whether he is aware that the effect of the construction of the works authorised thereby will be to destroy the shelter now afforded to small craft entering and leaving the Hull Docks, thereby rendering the use of the docks for canal-borne traffic impossible or difficult; and whether, having regard to the probable consequent discouragement to traffic on canals, the Board of Trade will issue a special Report upon the Bill?
