HEDDERWICK (Wick Burghs)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty (1) whether the gunboat Redwing and the cutter Active are the only Government vessels at present protecting the fisheries of Orkney and Shetland from illegal trawilng; and (2) whether the average rate of speed at which the Redwing can steam exceeds nine knots an hour?
§ MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAINThe answer to the first paragraph is yes. I believe that the speed of the Redwing is correctly stated, but I have not had time to ascertain the exact figure.
