ALFRED PEASE (Yorkshire, Cleveland)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the recent treatment of natives of Sekukuni's tribe in the Transvaal by a native Commissioner named Abel Erasmus and Commandant Cronje, and to the detailed relation of the circumstances published in a book by Mr. John Proctor; and whether any steps have been taken by the Suzerain Power to enforce the conditions set forth in Article 19 of the Convention of 1884 in the interest of the native population of the South African Republic?
