MR. FIELDI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government will consider the grievances of town tenants and introduce a Measure next Session securing to them their improvements and occupation under similar circumstances as given by legislation to agricultural tenants; and, whether a Commission will be appointed to inquire into and report upon the subject to this House?
§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. BALFOUR, Manchester, E.)This Question has been answered before, and I can only re-echo what was said the other day by my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary for Ireland—namely, that I cannot give any promise in reference to such legislation at present.
