W.)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the River Plate Telegraph Company (Limited), a British company with lines between Buenos Ayres and Monte Video, has through no fault of its own, had its entire service suspended by the Argentine Government since 30th January last, whilst a native opposition telegraph company has been permitted to continue working?

Her Majesty's representative at Buenos Ayres has been instructed to use his best efforts for the recognition of the just rights of the company; and it is hoped that the representations winch it has been his duty to make may suffice for that purpose.
