HC Deb 15 July 1897 vol 51 c154
CAPTAIN JESSEL (St. Pancras, S.)

beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his attention has been called to the evidence of the police as to the discharge of revolvers in the streets, at the trial of George Robson (aged 17 years), at the Central Criminal Court, for the manslaughter of Margaret Smith (aged 11 years), in Clerkenwell; and whether it is intended to take any steps to regulate the sale of revolvers?

MR. JESSE COLLINGS

The attention of the Secretary of State has been called to this case, and he is fully alive to the importance of the matter. The House will remember that legislation on the subject has already been attempted.
