said that he desired to correct a statement that lie had inadvertently made on Friday last to the effect that the Town Clerk of Birmingham was a member of a syndicate that wanted to purchase the Rosslare Railway. That official had written to him stating that there was no foundation whatever for the statement, and therefore lie wished to with, draw it, and to express his regret for having made it.
