MR. T. M. HEALYOn behalf of the hon. Member for Londonderry, beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord. Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will call the attention of the. National Board to the desirability of allowing children in the Irish-speaking districts, who are asked by the Inspectors to explain the subject, matter of the lessons read, to give their explanations in Irish, in which they can more readily express their ideas?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI will draw the attention of the Commissioners of National Education to the suggestion of the hon. and learned Member, but I need hardly say that the matter is one entirely for them to decide and not for me.
