PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Geeen, S.W.)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, in compliance with the request contained in a memorial addressed to him by Lord Peel on behalf of the State Children's Aid Association, he will take steps to secure that the Children's Committee of the Metropolitan Asylums Board shall be strengthened by the nomination thereon of men and women experienced in dealing with children and interested in educational matters?
§ MR. CHAPLINThere are at present no vacancies in the number of nominated Managers, but when it again becomes necessary for the Local Government Board to nominate members, in March of next year, or if before that time the number of elected Managers should be increased, I shall certainly, in making such nominations, have regard to the new duties with regard to children which now devolve on the Managers.
