§ MR. GILHOOLYI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether his attention has been called to the collection of tolls and customs at fairs and markets in the town of Bantry, Co. Cork; whether he is aware that the agents of the Bantry Estate charge tolls on the sale of cattle, sheep, horses, &c., at fairs held in the streets of the town, and can he state whether it is by charter or letters patent that the said tolls are levied; and whether schedules of the tolls demanded are published?
§ *MR. GERALD BALFOURI am informed that tolls are levied at the fairs and markets held at Bantry, and that it is believed these charges are made under the authority of letters patent. I am not aware whether schedules of the tolls are published.
