§ SIR HENRY FOWLER (Wolverhampton, E.)I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will, in the weekly statements of the public income and expenditure, include in the income the gross receipts from the Customs, Excise, and Death Duties, and show in the expenditure the amounts paid to the Local Taxation Account?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir MICHAEL HICKS BEACH,) Bristol, W.The right hon. Gentleman is, of course, aware that the information he desires is given in the quarterly accounts, and also in the Budget statement. I doubt whether it would be advisable to give it in the weekly statements, which would then no longer be an Exchequer account, and would, owing to the manner in which the amounts are paid to the local taxation account, be somewhat misleading. But I will consider the matter and communicate with him upon it.
