TANNERI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if any further developments have taken place in connection with the proposed extensions of either of the lines of railway in Mid Cork from Peak or Macroom to Ballyvourney; and, if so, what financial assistance will be given by Government, and under what terms?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe proposed lines have been considered by the Government, but I cannot hold out any hope that I shall be able to advise the Lord Lieutenant to certify either scheme under the first clause of the Act of last year.
