PICKERSGILLI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) whether the first training school for prison officers was started at Chelmsford on the 1st October, according to the intention announced in the last report of the Prison Commissioners; and (2) if so, what is the number of officers now going through a course of instruction?
