§ MR. KNOXI beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether the Report on the Irish Teachers' Pension Fund will be ready in time for the discussion on the Supplementary Estimate, Clause 6, Vote.; and whether the sum to be voted will make the fund actuarially solvent, having regard to the claims of existing teachers to pensions on the present scale, 1259 and also to the liabilities likely to be incurred in respect to future teachers on the same scale?
§ MR. HANBURYThe Report cannot be circulated in time, but I shall be prepared to state the substance of it in discussing the Estimate. The Report will be in Members' hands before the discussion of the Estimate for 1897–8. The sum now asked for forms part of a scheme which, I believe, will restore the solvency of the fund, after providing for all its liabilities to present and future teachers.
