§ MR. KNOXI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Local Government Board have considered a proposed increase of £30 a year in the salary of the clerk to the Ballyshannon Union for keeping the keys of the waterworks; and whether, before sanctioning this increase, they will take into consideration the fact that there was no public notice before the clerk was appointed caretaker of the waterworks, the clerk undertaking the work without payment?
§ *MR. GERALD BALFOURA proposal has been made to allow a gratuity of £30 to the Clerk of the Union for his services in connection with the Waterworks since the year 1892, and this proposal is now receiving the consideration of the Local Government Board. There is no proposal before the Board to increase the Clerk's salary.
