MACALEESE (Monaghan, N.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if in any scheme which may be devised to settle on a secure basis the Irish National Teachers' Pension Fund, he will consider the advisability of making provision for compassionate grants to the wives and families of teachers whose demise antedated but a few weeks the period of service which would have entitled them to pensions?
MR. GERALD RALFOURThe question of revising the regulations concerning the National Teachers' Pension Fund is now engaging the attention of the Government. The suggestion of the hon. Member will be considered, but in saying this, I must not be taken as expressing any opinion on the merits of the suggestion?
