FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that in many constitutionally governed countries the Members of the Legislature are entitled to free passes on railways; and whether the Government will consider the utility of such facilities, and bring in a Measure to provide them for the Members of this House?
§ *MR. RITCHIEThis identical question was put to me last year by the hon. Member. However, I do not mind answering it annually. I am aware that in some countries passes over railways are given to Members of the Legislature, but I cannot hold out any hope to the hon. Member that the system is likely to be introduced into this country.
