§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERI have nothing, and shall not have anything, to add to the statements I have already made on this subject. I have said that in my opinion it cannot be dealt with on the basis of an equivalent grant, but that, if the Voluntary Schools Bill becomes law, fair consideration will be given to providing for the educational requirements of Scotland. Any questions as to the nature of that provision should be addressed not to me, but to the Lord Advocate; but I do not suppose they could be answered until the consideration of the English Bill is completed.
