HC Deb 08 February 1897 vol 45 c1534
SIR HOWARD VINCENT (Sheffield, Central)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade when he proposes to introduce the Bill for the exclusion of the goods made in the prisons of other countries promised in Her Majesty's Most Gracious Speech, and if he will take care to press it forward sufficiently early in the Session to avoid its being subsequently shelved for want of time?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. C. T. RITCHIE,) Croydon

I am not able at present to state when I shall introduce the Bill, but I hope it will not be long delayed.

SIR HOWARD VINCENT

Will my right hon. Friend make it as soon as possible?

MR. RITCHIE

Yes, I hope it will not be long delayed.
