HC Deb 04 February 1897 vol 45 c1312
MR. FREDERICK WILSON (Norfolk, Mid)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, having regard to the number of working men employed in the City of London who do not leave work till after seven o'clock, many of whom are practically disfranchised by the present election law, he will consider the expediency of extending the hours of polling in metropolitan constituencies till at least nine o'clock.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

The grievance to which the hon. Member refers, has not been brought to my notice. But if it is, I will give it full consideration.
