HC Deb 12 April 1897 vol 48 c949
MR. PICKERSGILL

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Prison Commissioners propose to re-open Brixton Prison as an establishment for training convicts in handicraft occupations?

SIR MATTHEW WHITE RIDLEY

Brixton prison is still in the temporary possession of the War office Authorities, and nothing has been, decided as to the uses to which it shall be put if ii ceases to be needed for military purposes.
