HC Deb 12 April 1897 vol 48 c952
MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN (Kilkenny)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether Mr. Edward Ivory, an American citizen, who was imprisoned in London for four months, has made a claim on the Government for damages for false imprisonment; and whether this claim has yet reached the Government; and, if so, what action the Government intend to take in the matter.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

No such claim as that to which the hon. Member refers has been received at the Foreign Office.
