HC Deb 09 April 1897 vol 48 c863
SIR EDWARD GOURLEY

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether, on the celebration of the 60th year of Her Majesty Queen Victoria's reign, arrangements are intended to be made for Members of both Houses of Parliament, together with one or two members of their families, to take part in the thanksgiving ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral, and also to witness the procession at Westminster, similar to those made at Westminster and the neighbourhood for the celebration of Her Majesty's Jubilee?

* THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. A. AKERS-DOUGLAS, Kent, St. Augustine's)

Yes, Sir, seats will be provided for Members of both Houses of Parliament to witness the Royal procession on June 22. It will be impossible to provide seats at St. Paul's Cathedral. I may add that I hope to be able to provide accommodation for the officials of the House. ["Hear, hear!"]
