THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE WAR OFFICE (Mr. POWELL-WILLIAMS, 'Birmingham, S.)The Secretary of State has caused inquiry to be made as to the rate of wages in the neighbourhood of Haulbowline, and it appears that the amount paid by the War Department is fully the current rate paid to ordinary labourers in the district.
