I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is in a position to state the amount paid to the Local Taxation (Ireland) Account under the Local Taxation (Ireland) Estate Duty Act of 1896; and to what purpose the Government intend that the money shall be devoted?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND

The sum of £74,870 13s. 2d. has been paid to the Local Taxation (Ireland) Account under the Act of last year. The Irish Government are not yet in a position to state to what purpose this money will be allocated.
