I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he has yet received any report from the Board of Works in Ireland upon the petition of the fisherman of Portavogie, county Down, for the construction of a pier at that place to enable them to land their fish or tranship them for conveyance to Scotland and England by steamer?

A copy of the memorial received from the fishermen of Portavogie has been forwarded by the Irish Government to the Treasury, and I understand that Department is now in communication with the Board of Works on the subject.
