HC Deb 12 May 1896 vol 40 c1142
MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN

On behalf of the hon. Member for Waterford (Mr. JOHN REDMOND), I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether it is his intention to move Amendments on Report of the Poor Law Officers' Superannuation Bill, extending the provisions of the Measure to Ireland?

MR. J. J. CLANCY (Dublin. Co., N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he is prepared to state the position of the Government towards the Poor Law Officers' Superannuation Bill, so far as regards the extension of that Measure to Ireland?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I understand that Amendments extending the provisions of this Measure to Ireland have been put down by my hon. Friend the Member for South Dublin (Mr. Horace Plunkett), and to those Amendments the Government will not offer any opposition.
