MR. THOMAS B. CURRANI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, if in the ensuing Light Railways (Ireland) Bill 1608 he would consider the advisability of inserting provisions to simplify the present costly procedure for determining the amount of compensation to be paid to the owners and occupiers of land, through which the railways run, and to cut down the enormous fees required to be paid under the existing Acts to county surveyors by promoters of Light Railways?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe points raised in the Question are proper matters for consideration, and it will certainly be my object to avoid unnecessary expense in the construction of Light Railways, as far as may be found possible.
