To call the attention of the House to the inadequate production of food supplies within the area of the United Kingdom in relation to the population; and to move, That a Select Committee be appointed to consider the advisability of erecting State granaries at convenient centres for the storing of at least a year's supply of wheat for the United Kingdom, and generally to inquire into and consider means whereby the inadequate food productions in the United Kingdom may be met.—[Tuesday, 14th April.]
