§ THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURYIn answer to my hon. Friend I have to say that the two museums which are under the direct control of the Government are the Bethnal Green and South Kensington Museums. We are making communications with the trustees of the British Museum and the National Gallery, and when we have further time to consult with those bodies I shall make a general statement to the House on the subject.
