§ MR. ENGLEDOWI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies, whether there is a full and complete survey of the Crown lands in the Islands of St. Vincent and St. Lucia in the possession of the Colonial Office; and, if not, if he will cause such a survey to be made by a responsible and qualified officer, sent out from this country with special powers to inquire into the matter?
§ MR. J. CHAMBERLAINThere is no full and complete survey of the Crown lands in the Islands of St. Vincent and St. Lucia in the possession of this office. There has been for some years past in each of these islands a department created by law for the purpose of preparing such a survey, much of which has been already effected. To take the additional steps suggested would involve an expenditure which the Colonies are not in a position to incur.
