PARNELL (Meath, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether he will inquire into the number of prosecutions which have been instituted in Ireland during the past five years for the sale of liquors adulterated with 615 water, and cases in which the adulterations were of a poisonous nature dangerous to public health; and, in how many cases convictions were obtained?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURI informed the hon. Gentleman yesterday, in reply to a similar Question which he put to me, that I hoped to be able to give him the figures he requires in some 10 or 12 days hence. Perhaps he will be good enough to put down the Question for the 20th instant?
