HC Deb 05 March 1896 vol 38 cc233-4
MR. VERNEY (Warwickshire, Rugby)

I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education, whether his attention has been called to the case of Mr. Worthington, a retired school teacher, who is receiving a pension of £25 a year after 40 years' service; and whether the Education Department will consider his claims to, an increase in his pension?

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (Sir J. GORST, Cambridge University)

This teacher's pension was awarded in 1890, after a full consideration of his claims. The Committee of Council see no reason for increasing it.
