HC Deb 26 June 1896 vol 42 c154
MR. DILLON

asked the Chief Secretary if he could say on what day he proposed to introduce the Irish Rating Bill, and whether he had yet decided in what way he could dispose of the equivalent grant to Ireland?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

said he could not answer the first part of the Question, and he thought it would be unwise to answer the second part pending the introduction of the Bill.

MR. DILLON

asked if the Irish Members would have any opportunity of expressing an opinion upon how the money was to be disposed of before the Bill was drafted.

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

said, he should be glad to receive any suggestions from hon. Members opposite on the subject.
