§ In answer to an HON. MEMBER,
§ SIR LEONARD LYELL (Orkney and Zetland)said the Bill had been brought in and referred to a Hybrid Committee, who had passed and adjusted it to meet the requirements of the Scotch Office. The Bill had the full approval of the Scotch Office. Its object was merely to make the existing Act available in Orkney and Zetland.
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERsaid the hon. Member would understand that he must have some communication with the Scotch Office before the Bill proceeded.
