HC Deb 19 June 1896 vol 41 c1443
MR. DAVID THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board, if he can now state the scope, method, and terms of the Inquiry into the claims of property other than agricultural land to an equitable adjustment of taxation, which, on 20th April, he promised should take place immediately; and when the Inquiry is likely to commence?

I am sorry that I am not in a position to reply to the Question of the hon. Member, which only appeared on the Paper this morning; and he will remember that the scope of the Inquiry has been sensibly altered since the statement he refers to was made on the 20th April. I hope, however, at no distant date to give to the House full information on the subject.
