REES DAVIES (Pembrokeshire)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, whether he has received a memorial from the inhabitants of Goodwick, Pembrokeshire, in regard to the alleged powers proposed to be exercised by the Fishguard Bay Railway and Pier Company; and whether he has taken any and what steps, in accordance with the prayer of the memorialists, to preserve to the fishermen and inhabitants generally the existing access to the seashore so necessary for small craft at all states of the tide?

The Fishguard Bay Railway and Pier Company have submitted plans of the works which they propose to construct in Fishguard Bay under their Act of 1893, and I am in communication with the Company with the view of obtaining further information as to their proposals. When the necessary information is received from the Company, the representations contained in the memorial will receive my careful consideration.
