HC Deb 08 June 1896 vol 41 cc611-2
MR. HOGAN

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty, whether he is now in possession of the correspondence that recently passed between Lord Brassey, Governor of Victoria, and the Admiral in command of the Australian station, with respect to the advisability of periodical visits of one or more of Her Majesty's ships in Australian waters to the Harbour of Melbourne; and whether he contemplates any action in connection with the correspondence referred to?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. G. J. GOSCHEN, St. George's,) Hanover Square

said the answer to both questions was in the negative.
