GERALD LODER (Brighton)I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether he has considered the possibility of taking advantage of the contemplated alterations in Parliament Street, in order to construct a subway from some point in the vicinity of Downing Street to Palace Yard, for the convenience of Ministers, officials, and messengers?
§ MR. AKERS-DOUGLASThe subject of the construction of a subway from Parliament Street into New Palace Yard has been brought forward before the Committee on the Appropriation of Sites for Government Offices, but has been deferred by them for further consideration until next Session.
