§ MR. THORBURNI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Commission has yet been appointed to inquire into the incidence of local taxation; and, if not, if he will give an assurance that it will be appointed before the close of the present Session.
§ MR. CHAPLINMy right hon. Friend has asked me to reply to this question. The constitution of the Commission is far advanced. I have no doubt that it will be completed before the end of the Session, and that I shall shortly be able to make the announcement of its appointment.
